Profhilo

Beautiful for: Helping to restore lost volume and elasticity. The result is skin that looks and acts more youthful – lasting for 6-8 months.

Profhilo is designed to help increase firmness and elasticity, promoting softer, healthier looking skin. When administered by an expert, this treatment can improve the look of skin tone, texture, hydration, and radiance. Commonly used on the face, Profhilo is versatile enough for the neck and décolleté, and even the arms, knees and hands.

How Profhilo works

From our thirties, our collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid levels drop, leaving a legacy of fine lines, wrinkles and lax skin. Profhilo has been formulated to help slow and reverse these changes by slowly releasing high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid.

Profhilo’s high concentrations of hyaluronic acid are extremely hydrophilic, attracting and retaining moisture. This effect happens within just 3-5 days following treatment. But it also has a brilliant secondary firming effect, by stimulating the body’s own natural collagen and elastin production.

How long does it take to see results?

Profhilo takes 4-6 weeks to work to spread and stimulate your own collagen and elastin. The maximum effect of Profhilo is usually seen two months after the second treatment.

What are the benefits of Profhilo?

Profhilo was developed to help improve skin’s tone, texture, hydration and overall radiance. It can help to increase firmness and elasticity and promote healthier and softer-looking skin.

What side effects can Profhilo cause?

The common injection related side effects are localised and temporary, and may include one or more of the following:

  • Swelling, redness and/or slight bruising.
  • Occasionally itching, pain/tenderness, or increasing swelling.
  • Rare risks such as blindness, loss of blood supply to an area of skin and infection associated with the filler product have been reported in literature. These are treatable if managed appropriately.

We will discuss the risks in more detail during your consultation, to make sure you’re completely informed. This is why it’s super important to get this treatment from a Cosmetic Registered Nurse or Doctor who’s highly experienced in injecting dermal fillers.

Profhilo vs fillers, what’s the difference?

Both injectable treatments contain hyaluronic acid. Unlike fillers, Profhilo won’t add volume, but stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin just beneath the skin’s surface.

What happens during a Profhilo treatment?

Profhilo is injected just below the skin’s surface. After injection it disperses quickly to improve hydration. Profhilo is absorbed within a 2cm radius of its injection site, so the whole face needs only 10 injections.

How long is a Profhilo session?

While an appointment lasts 30 minutes, the treatment takes only 10, as there are very specific injection points used. If discomfort is experienced it's short lived and there’s no downtime.

How many treatments would I need?

A course of Profhilo involves two sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Courses of two treatments can be repeated every 6-8 months to maintain results.
