Botox® & Dysport®

Beautiful for: temporarily relaxing the facial muscles that create fine lines and wrinkles, to soften frown lines, forehead lines and ‘crow’s feet’ – with minimal pain or downtime.

Freshen up

A quick 10-15 minute procedure, Botox® and Dysport® both involve tiny injections directly into the muscles that create your areas of concern. A few minutes later you're back out in the world, with no one else being any the wiser.

Injectable therapy is an art. To give you the most refreshing natural results, our cosmetic registered nurse knows exactly how to place injections directly into the right muscle, in the correct position, at an ideal dose.

Don’t sweat it, this works!

At Ivy Clinic, we also use Botox®and Dysport® to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Excessive sweating can be both embarrassing and place a huge burden on your lifestyle. The condition is termed Hyperhidrosis and can be treated effectively with Botox®. The Botox® temporarily stops the conduction of nerve signals between the nerve and sweat gland in the treated area. As in all Botox® treatments, after several months the nerve pathways regenerate therefore the treatment is to be repeated.

After the consultation and preparation process the treatment takes only 15 to 20 minutes with a series of small injections into the area treated. The treatment is more uncomfortable than painful and you should notice a significant reduction in excessive sweating in the area treated within two weeks of treatment. Results can vary however some people have reported up to 80% reduction in perspiration lasting six to eight months.

Botox® treatment for excessive sweating requires larger doses of Botox® than an anti-wrinkle treatment.  By booking in for a complimentary consult with our clinician you will informed of the cost and skin preparations required prior to Botox treatment for excessive sweating.

Tell me about Botox

How long does it last?

Everyone’s different, but treated muscles will usually return to normal within 3-4 months. You may notice results last longer with regular treatments.

Who is best suited to this treatment?

If you’re concerned about or looking to prevent some of the most visible signs of ageing: including fine lines, wrinkles, or appearing tired and stressed. If Botox/ Dysport is injected when lines are first forming, it can slow their progression into more noticeable wrinkles.

Does Botox® /Dysport® work for men too?

Yes, these injectables work for both men and women, although men often need slightly higher doses due to the strength of their facial muscles. We can talk about this during your free, no obligation consultation.

How long does treatment take?

First, we’ll spend time making sure you’re fully informed and have a treatment tailored specifically to your concerns. The treatment itself is quick – usually 10-15 minutes.

How much does treatment cost?

This depends on the area being treated and how many units of Botox are needed for that area. Our cosmetic registered nurse will assess the optimum treatment for your concerns and let you know the cost in advance. We can also review your results for free two weeks after treatment. If you need a top up, we can do this at a reduced fee.

Is Botox® safe?

Botox has been used for decades, and – when administered by an experienced registered nurse – is a safe treatment with reliable results. As well as aesthetic treatments, Botox is used medically to treat excessive sweating, headaches, overactive bladders and conditions like cerebral palsy.

Botox®, Dysport® what’s the difference?

The active ingredient (Botulinum toxin A) is the same in both, but the protein structure surrounding each molecule is slightly different. Both brands work in a similar way – by blocking the signal between the nerves and the muscle, so the muscle can’t cause wrinkles for a period of time. Our Cosmetic Registered Nurse is highly experienced in knowing which and how much to use to give you beautiful, natural results.

Will I look weird?

The Ivy Clinic philosophy is ‘less is more’. Our Cosmetic Registered Nurse is highly experienced in injectables and will look at all your dynamic muscle movements to see whether Botox is a good option and/or how much to inject to achieve the most refreshed, naturally youthful look for your face. Because our aim is always to make you look and feel like your best you.
