Dermal fillers are extremely effective for lip reshaping, volumising, glamourising and hydration. With softer, plumper and more defined lips we can help create a more youthful smile and confidence in your appearance.
Dermal fillers are a powerful tool in facial rejuvenation and are made from a hyaluronic acid, a tissue-friendly protein that restores age-related volume loss in the face.
At Ivy Clinic we approach lip enhancement with the philosophy of easy does it, achieving natural results with balance and restraint. We can also combine the use of dermal filler to enhance lip boarders and Botox to help eliminate perioral ‘smokers lines’.
How long do they take?
A treatment with dermal fillers takes 30 – 45min. The results are immediate and easily visible.
How long do they last?
Fillers last from 9-24 months, depending on the product that’s used.
Will DF make me look fake?
At Ivy Clinic we aim to enhance, restore and revive your natural beauty. By carefully replacing volume loss we will provide a natural and healthy looking result, not an artificial one. “Everyone will notice but nobody will know!”
What exactly are Dermal Fillers?
They are made up of a sugar protein that is naturally occurring in our skin. The purpose of dermal fillers is to keep the skin plump and healthy, by attracting surrounding water molecules. Naturally the protein is broken down within 24/48hrs. The companies that make dermal fillers cross link the protein so that it lasts longer (9-24 mths) it is made into a gel which is then able to be easily injected into the skin into soft tissues or under muscles depending on which area we are trying to treat.
What is the recovery time?
It is possible to develop some bruising, swelling and tenderness to touch all of which will settle within 2-5 days. Bruising isn’t such a bad thing…. As it stimulates collagen production.
What if I don’t like the result?
This is highly unlikely as we conduct a very thorough initial consult to ensure that we have a clear understanding of your concerns and wants. However, we do have an enzyme available that can dissolve the product if necessary.
What are the risks?
We will discuss the risks in more detail in the consultation process. Commonly people will experience temporary redness, puffiness and/or bruising however we would not consider this a risk. It is not common to experience severe side effects however there have been some incidences the product has hardened and in a very worst case it has blocked a vein or an artery. It’s important to be completely informed and as stated we will go over this in further detail in the consulting process.
Are dermal fillers painful?
During your consult, your clinician will take time to assess the need for and the appropriate pain relief for your selected dermal filler treatment. It is not uncommon for certain areas not to require any topical anaesthesia however in some areas such as the top lip you may have an anaesthetic cream applied 30 minutes prior to the procedure.
How is dermal filler different to Botox®?
Dermal fillers add volume and contouring to firm the face whereas Botox® treatments reduce the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing the muscles.
What does it cost?
Everyone has very individual requirements so it is important to come in for a complimentary consultation to discuss your needs, here you will be quoted with a maximum cost for treatments.
