Cosmelan

The Problem…

Excessive pigmentation concerns (aka age spots, melasma, sunspots and solar lentigines) affect more than 90% of adults over the age of fifty, regardless of skin colour. Pigmentation problems are especially common in New Zealand due to our overly high UV exposure.

Skin Hyperpigmentation (SH) is caused by abnormal production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour. SH is a consequence of uncontrolled, localised overproduction of melanin by the melanocytes, causing irregular skin colouration and dark spots.

The Treatment…cosmelan® is a professional depigmentation method which has a corrective effect on SH while regulating the overproduction of melanin in the melanocytes, inhibiting and controlling the appearance of new dark spots.

Its efficacy is based on its two-prong system of action:

1) Corrective: eliminating the hyperpigmentation
2) Regulating: controlling the overproduction of melanin, preventing the appearance of new skin spots in the long term.

Session Details…

cosmelan® is a complete method that involves an In Clinic treatment and an At Home maintenance regime.

The In Clinic treatment entails the professional application of cosmelan 1 to a face mask which is then left to do its work for 8 to 12 hours, according to the phototype and sensitivity of the skin to be treated. After the prescribed time, the mask is removed at home.

48 hours later, the At Home follow-up phase commences with the application of the cosmelan 2, a hydra-vital factor K cream and a moisturising sunscreen of SPF50+.

This follow-up phase is carried out for 7 months to achieve an optimal result and prevent the reappearance of unwanted spots.

WHAT IS COSMELAN?

the integral professional depigmentation method for your spots

it treats the problem from its origin, removing spots and preventing their reappearance

is effective against all types of spots of melanin origin, all types of skins and ethnicities

HOW DOES IT WORK?

all-in-one treatment to obtain short and long-term results thanks to its dual action: corrective and regulating.

Corrective Action-

it removes the deposits of melanin, a pigment that gives colour to the spot in the outermost skin layers

Regulating Action-

it acts directly in the melanocyte, a cell where melanin is produced, to control its production and keep hyperpigmentation under control

WHAT’S INVOLVED

cosmelan® protocol has four differentiated phases required to reach the target result. It is a long process where persistence and compliance with the protocol, as indicated, are key to achieve a successful final result

Phase 3: Regulation of Hyperpigmentation (home care)
